My husband and I just moved into a condo in Northwest Washington DC. We were delighted by our new home, but disheartened by the beat-up, bad flooring that came with it. The previous owners had allowed the oak floors to become warped and worn down. After moving in, we did some research and priced several flooring companies. I purchased my new home nearly a year ago. It is a pleasant place and though not too big, the home had more than the space required by me and the infrequent guests. There was indeed one problem though when I purchased it. The previous owner who bought that house in the 70s, though renovated to his liking earlier, never bothered to make any updates later. It is not that the 70s look is all that bad, but it is definitely not to to my liking. I had a lot to do between the shiny wall paper of foil and the tye-dyed carpet; in fact I didn’t even know that there existed tye-typed carpets!

A major service provider in flooring, national floors direct, was one of the locations I sought. It was promoted largely by a acquaintance that I had known who just remodeled his kitchen.

National Floors Direct – Great Prices

I lacked the cash for some hardwood. I checked the laminate section which had various amount of options that matched my kitchen counter tops. In the end, I ended up selecting a very nice laminate that resembles a cherry color that fits in perfect with my entryway.

The prices for the laminate at national floors direct were fairly comparable to other places that I’d visited; they were neither the highest nor the lowest even though it wasn’t a particularly massive range. The fact that there was no extra charge for the stairs between the entry and the kitchen, and that moving most of my massive furniture was also included, was also a factor in my decision.

The job that National Floors Direct did was very amazing to me. Because of that, few months later I decided to hire them to carpet my living areas and bedrooms. The installation crew for the carpeting was different, but just like the first team, the installers were extremely professional and I’m delighted with both the job they did and my house’s new appearance.

National Floors Direct Flooring Install Review

I bought my new home nearly a year ago. It is a pleasant place and though not too large, the house had more than the space required by me and the infrequent guests. It is not that the 70s look is all that bad, but it is definitely not to to my liking. I had a lot to do between the shiny wall paper of foil and the tye-dyed carpet; in fact I did not even know that there existed tye-typed carpets!

After all of the papering and painting, there was certainly a noticeable improvement. Once I arrived at the stage where I could remove the old-fashioned carpeting and put something more stylish in its place, I then had to locate affordable floor covering that was nevertheless attractive. I planned to begin with the foyer and the kitchen area because they would be seen by guests as soon as they entered. However, I realized that eventually I would be replacing all the older stuff, so I absolutely had to find flooring that was reasonably priced.

A major service provider in flooring, national floors direct, was one of the places I looked at. It had come recommended by a friend of mine who’d just redone his kitchen in hardwood, and since I liked the look of it I decided to give them a try. It wasn’t the only place I looked, obviously, but having people come to my house allow me to compare various samples against my walls and furniture rather than having to go to a showroom and imagine how things would look made me favorably inclined.

As my budget was not large enough for hardwood but the variety of laminates national floors direct had was fairly wide and more over I found several options that will go quite well with my cabinets and countertops. (Those were, thanks to my good luck, were not bright orange or any other bright colours that I dislike therefore I did not have to go in for replacement.) Finally I selected a laminate resembling cherry and I thought it will look excellent in the entryway.

The prices that they offered were not the cheapest or the most expensive, but the range between these was not very large. The variety of laminates they have is fairly wide. They have affordable floor covering. You will find carpets for living room and bedrooms too. They offer to come to your places and show various samples. Their crew is very professional and they have various crews for various departments.

Beautiful Floors and Stairs and Excellent Service

I’m nuts for services. Now I don’t think that I expect much, just call backs, followup, and genuine willingness to help if something went wrong. But today, in this outsourced, bottom line, next transaction world, it is extremely hard to find. You can stop looking because you get that and more with National Floors Direct. I have seen them make significant investments in their customer service team, including someone who follows up usually on very next day of your work to make sure that everything is to your satisfaction. If you do have any issues they make you an appointment and someone comes out and makes it right, no arguing, no explaining, just ask and you shall receive. You feel like you have not only purchased a floor (in my case hardwood floors in my kitchen, dining room, hallways and two sets of stairs) but you have entered into a partnership with them. Hardwood Stairs… if you have ever had to get quotes for these, you better be ready for sticker shock. National Floors Direct had not only a great price that beat their competitors, their product was far superior and the job was done quickly. Most companies don’t stock stairs and it will take you months to get these installed, with National Floors it was just a day. I can’t say enough about Raymond D and team. They were amazing. The way they finished my hardwood stairs with molding to cover where the builder of my house left raw edges was an example of the “little extras” that you experience with the top installers at NFD. It’s these “extras” that save you not only time, and money, but the aggrevation of finding someone to do the finishing word. At NFD they care about the whole job and how your home looks, not just throwing in your floor and leaving. The no interest/no payments for one year is a huge help, especially when you are doing a large job. It allows you to have the floors that you always wanted, when you want them (like the very next day), and also give yourself time to budget over the year how you will pay for them. I wanted to send my compliments to NFD for a job done well beyond expectations at my new home over the past weekend. The installer, Andre DeSouza, worked incredibly long hours on Friday and returned on Saturday and was absolutely meticulous during the entire process. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Dan and the installation crew (Jose and Migduel Jr) on a wonderfull job! I was a bit leary at first because I read a few negative remarks about the National Floors Direct on the web. But, after talking to Dan, he assured me that everything would be fine. National Floors Direct does miles and miles of carpeting and one might expect a few complaints. I guess that is a true statement. I have read complaints about other companies as well. The installation crew arrived on time and did a terrific job. Jose and Jr were polite and projected a professional personality. Here is the best part. The National Floors Direct beat the lowest price (which was $150.00 more than NFD) by 15%. Not only that, the NFD let me use their cupon for $250.00 after I negotiated the final price. Thanks Dan for all your help. I saved $500.00 from the lowest price I was quoted from a competitor. If anyone from the department of Better Business Bureau is reading my testimonial they should use my comments for their Reliability Report for this company (NFD). You need to commend these two people for their excellence…John and Edson, these two are perfection at it’s best and a talent that you don’t want to lose in both of them, Edsons actual work with the wood around the tile was excellent and he takes pride in what he does!!! I thought the commercial might be too good to be true but the carpet was installed the next day. The installers were terrific and the carpet looks great. I had both hardwood flooring and carpeting installed. Both installs went very well, and I am totally satisfied with the end result. I would especially like to comment on the carpet installtion done by Kenny D and his son. They were both very pleasant to deal with, worked very hard, and the quality of the work was excellent. Kenny’s attention to detail was especially evident in the basement. With no prompting from me, he installed the carpet around a sump pump cover in such a way that it is totally hidden, but I can easily pull back the carpet if I need to access the pump. In addition, Kenny was very flexible in handling a couple of situations. Rather than asking me to disassemble a large computer cabinet so it could be moved out of the room, Kenny moved it back and forth while laying the carpet. When he got to the living room, he was only too happy to bury a home theater speaker cable, which goes across the room to the rear speakers, under the carpet so that for the first time it is invisible. I am delighted to have selected the NFD team for my new flooring project.

My name is Douglas A and this is my story… I live in a building that is almost 100 years old and you have to climb four flights of stairs just to get to my condo unit. The tile and carpet were laid in 1985 and, needless to say, it was time for a change. I saw your T.V. add and decided to visit your website. I answered your questions and promptly received an e-mail on a sunday afternoon. Monday morning, a young women called and asked if I would like to set up an in-home appointment and free estimate. Tuesday, a young man arrived with the samples of flooring I chose online. The samples were very nice but, I had a certian style I was looking for. I mentioned I was interested in Bamboo flooring and he ran down and up the four flights with the samples. I chose the Bamboo and received the interest free financing. To my surprise and pleasure, he said they would start the next day!! Wednsday morning I recieved a call at 9 am saying they would arrive between 11am and 1pm but, they arrived at 10:45 am. Three young men, (ages 27, 25, and 22 years old), arrived and I thought to myself, They are too young and inexperienced to do a proper job. Boy was I wrong!!! They began at 11am by ripping up the carpeting and tile and even moving the refrigerator and stove. They laid the first straight line of flooring and then proceeded to fly. These men worked for seven hours without a break, running up and down the four flights with 6ft boxes of flooring and everytime they had to make a cut to fit the room which had to be at least another 75 times. I had to force them to stop and eat some Italian subs I bought for dinner. They finished at 6:15, began cleaning and at 6:30 they left. The floor they installed is amazing and beautifull. In seven hours my condo went from the 1980\’s to a new century. The next day, thursday, a lovely women called to see if I was happy with the job. I am very, very, very happy and amazed!!! Keep up the good work and I will continue to sing your praises to everyone who tells me my flooring is awsome!!!!! An extremely satisfied customer.
